Opening Ceremony

The Robongiers Event started with a Pathways School Gurgaon tradition, the lighting of the lamp. The Managing Director, Mr Prashant Jain, the Director, Captain Bajaj and the Middle School Principal, Mrs Dimpu Sharma lit the ceremonial lamp to declare open the Robongier Fest.

Mrs Sharma warmly welcomed the Managing Director, School Director and all the visiting teams. She spoke about the curiosity and the inventiveness of the human mind, through exploring the design cycle, being the driving concept behind the inception of the Robongiers' Fest, three years back.

Captain Bajaj then delivered a powerful message and I quote, "There's a huge untamed resource within us; that resource is potential. We're here to tap that potential.”

Captain Bajaj then proceeded to talk about how the aid of robots can further develop society and how robots can help humans change for the better. He left a powerful message that paved the way for the rest of the event to occur.

After this a small welcoming ceremony was opened with the musical renditions of the Pathways School Orchestra, conducted by Mr Keith Terrett.

This was followed with an upbeat and foot-tapping song, I Got A  Robot,  sung by students of grade VI. Adding the fun element, some students rapped on the features and functions of robots.

The gifted young dancers of Middle School performed  a robotic break dance to a medley of electric music and the old favorite Time of My Life.

The Opening Ceremony concluded with Mr Jain's words of encouragement to all participants. He emphasized that what was important was that the students had chosen to be part of a fest that involved innovative problem solving through electronic and robotic challenges - making them all winners, irrespective of the outcome of the competition!
